A dog that was found taped inside a box and dumped in a portable toilet in Brookline is now available for adoption.

A 22-pound female Corgi-mix, believed to be about 5, was found last week at a construction site on Colchester Street, the MSPCA said.

"The time has come to find a wonderful, loving home for 'Princess Loo,' the sweet Corgi-mix found taped inside a box in a #Brookline Port-a-Potty last week," the MSPCA tweeted.

The dog was able to free her head and two front legs from the box. Angell Animal Medical Center staff evaluated her and said she was unharmed and stable, but frightened.

The dog has completed a mandatory seven-day hold period at the MSPCA’s Jamaica Plain adoption center and is now available for adoption.

"She is, understandably, nervous around new people, and our adoption center team intends to place her in a quiet home, without kids, and perhaps with another mellow dog for company," the MSPCA said.

The box in which the dog was trapped was for an O-Cedar EasyWring mop and bucket. The dog was not wearing a collar or identification tags, nor was she microchipped, the MSPCA said.

Brookline police are leading the investigation and ask anyone with information to call 617-730-2730 or the MSPCA’s Law Enforcement at 800-522-6008.
