Martin Oberhauser of Studio Oberhauser presents the Chair N° One, manufactured by Progress 3D Innovation, a lightweight yet durable piece of furniture to be passed on from generation to generation, printed by the highest resolution concrete powder bed printing technology available today.

Chair N° One recently won the Best Chair of the Year Award at the 2022 Prize Designs for Modern Furniture and Lighting from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and Global Design News.

Designed with natural patterns in mind, Chair N° One revisits the features of nature that are reflected in the design language of the chair. Intricate bionic structures emulate patterns present in plants and other living beings.

The 3D printing method displays the nuances and patterns similar to tree rings left from manufacturing, providing every single piece with its unique signature.

Sustainably printed by using recycled glass as base material, the chairs embody one of the future-proof ways to create and reshape objects we interact with on a daily basis.

The chairs are printed in one piece, providing structural stability and a continuous, smooth surface.

The raw sensations provided by the material instantly connect the user to the object, fulfilling our desire for simplicity, purity, and essentiality.

The cement printing compounds can be chosen based on indoor or outdoor use of the Chair N° One, making the chair a universally usable piece of artistic design furniture.
